Description
A real dreamboat (see what I did there?). This is an antique 18ct boat ring, set with three blue stones. The side stones are tourmalines of a greenish-blue colour, hinting at red in certain angles. The centre stone I believe is a garnet topped doublet. This is where a thin slice of garnet is fused to coloured glass, to give the illusion of a larger, single gemstone. It was a common technique for the time, but is rarely seen today.
Between the gemstones were four tiny rose cut diamonds, which sadly is now just one. The other three have been lost to time, however this is extremely subtle. Nothing looks amiss unless viewed very closely/with a loupe.
The ring is in otherwise excellent antique condition! A size R 1/2 (9.25). Not resizable.
