I think of this wonderful piece as a cocktail ring because wearing it makes me feel instantly fabulous and wanting to put on my party frock! A chunky deep purple amethyst measuring 9x13mm sits in a simple bezel setting with a rope border. It is immediately striking, a sure head turner!
The ring features split shoulders and a solid 1.5mm shank. A vintage piece with hallmarks for London 1975, this ring has been so well taken care of. The visible stone facets are in immaculate condition. The only wear to note is the culet (bottom) of the stone, which has a chip/abrasion. This can only be seen when looking directly at the underside of the stone. When worn, this is totally undetectable.
This slight damage is likely due to the ring shank having been bent at some point, and while on the ring mandrel to be lightly hammered back into position, the culet got the knocked against metal a bit too hard.
