Description
An understated vintage 9ct and Sterling Silver Signet Ring. It looks as though it was at one time all gold, and has since worn down to the original silver. The way it has worn suggests it was electroplated. This is quite a durable form of gold plating but, it seems this ring was loved and therefore well used. Nonetheless I believe its current state only adds to its charm!
It features engraving with diagonal lines across the top, but could potentially have new different engraving on again – initials perhaps.
It is very comfortable to wear, wrapping nicely around the finger. As for the date, there is no hallmark so it’s hard to say. My guess would be 1970s, but there’s no exact way to tell.
This 9ct and Sterling Silver Signet Ring has a stamp with ‘ 9ct on silver’ on the inside of the band. The silver is therefore likely 800 silver purity.
It’s a UK size S / US 9.5. It measures 8x8mm and weighs 2.00g.
