Description
On offer here is a truly special ring.
This antique 15ct Almandine garnet ring is a delightful shade of rose gold – unlike the pink we see today, this is lighter and complementary to all skin tones.
Antique rose gold is difficult to come by, since the ceasing of its production in 1932. The limited quantity means it is a real treat to have acquired a piece like this.
The two almandine garnets are very cosily set into an eight-claw setting, which is itself in great condition. Their colour goes from a bright pink, to a deep reddish colour and they play beautifully with the light.
The toi-et-moi style ring was first made popular when Napoleon gifted one to his wife to be, Josephine in 1796. Since then it has remained a popular style of ring, symbolising romantic union and true love. This is why toi-et-moi rings also make very good engagement rings!
This antique 15ct almandine garnet ring is a size 6 or L. I would not recommend resizing. It is in excellent antique condition, with general wear as expected with age. There are gorgeous, crisp hallmarks for Chester 1897.
