Description
An exquisite antique silver amethyst brooch. This bar brooch features a large central faceted amethyst, and 4 accent pearls. Definitely an art deco piece, dating from c.1915. It has been assessed by a historical jewellery expert, and has also been professionally tested to confirm the metal.
Initially, I thought the 850 stamp could have been low grade platinum (as 850 is pretty rare) but unusually, it’s in fact an 850 silver stamp! The brooch likely comes from Germany.
There is beautiful swirl detailing all along the sides of the brooch. It’s in full working order, and features a safety closure.
It is in excellent condition for its age. However, the pearls have some wear as expected with age. Please also note there is some nickel present in the pin, for anyone with serious allergies.
Total length of this antique silver amethyst brooch is 6.5cms, the width of the bar is 1mm, and the beautiful stone measures 7x9mm. Good weight to it at 4.39g.
