Description
On offer is an exquisite vintage opal ballerina ring. Set into over 7g of 900 platinum, the 1.4ct natural grey opal (thought to be of Australian origin) is held in a four prong setting. Around this delightful stone are 52 diamonds – a mix of round cut and baguette cut totaling 0.55tcw. The result is an utterly sumptuous and luxurious dress ring of generous proportions.
The opal is a beautiful, subdued grey with a gorgeous play of colour. It is cut en cabochon and is in very good condition. Upon inspection with a 10x loupe, some light wear is visible on the outer edges, commensurate with age and wear. This is not visible to the naked eye.
The ring sits 7mm above the finger, and the face measures 13 x 16mm. The shank is tapered, starting at 5mm at the shoulders and coming to 2.5mm at the bottom.
There are stamps inside the band for 900 platinum, as well as 1.40 and 0.55 for the opal and diamond weight respectively.
This ring is suitable for careful daily wear, however please review the care guide to see how best to look after this opal!
This ring comes with a Chinese gem report.
