Description
This beautiful and unusual piece is a vintage 9ct locket ring. It is based on a Victorian design and the attention to detail in it is superb.
The front, which features gorgeous floral engravings and a rope style border, opens up to reveal a secret compartment. This also features the same detailed engravings, and can house a small photograph by tucking the edges into the rim. The hinge is in perfect condition and the locket opens and closes securely.
This vintage 9ct locket ring is a real treat to find, even if it is ‘just’ vintage rather than antique, locket rings are hard to come by in such good condition. There is very minimal wear, in keeping with age and light use.
There is a 375 and anchor stamp for Birmingham but the rest of the hallmarks have been rubbed over time. There is not date stamp, I imagine this item to be from the 80s or 90s.
This ring is a small size I or 4.5, so perfect as a pinky ring or for very nimble fingers! It weighs 2.61g.
