An authentic vintage black Wedgwood ring cameo, mounted in 925 sterling silver.
The black colour is now uncommon in rings, so it is rare enough to come by. It depicts the Greek muse Terpsichore. She is the patron of dancing and lyric poetry. Herewe see her playing the lute!
This vintage 925 black Wedgwood ring is in good vintage condition – the silver has some scuffs and a couple of very small indentations on the shoulder. However the wear is very much in keeping with its age. The jasperware is still nearly perfect.
It is hallmarked JW 925 London 1978 and stamped WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND on the reverse of the cameo.
A nice sturdy weight at 4.40g and the cameo, including the silver frame, measures 1.8×1.3cms. Currently this ring is a size L/6.
